STV REPAIR POLICY
Stv do not accept repairs without a deposit. This is because in the past repairs were done for customers but were not picked up leaving us to absorb the costs for parts and for the engineers labour. So we now charge a deposit to offset these costs.
Please ask us about the deposit amount for your item.
Please note all electrical items left at the shop or picked up by our staff for repair require a deposit to be paid when booking the item in before work can be started.
Deposits are non refundable and are paid to our qualified experienced engineer for electrical inspection, testing & fault finding of your item.
However this fee is deducted from the total repair charge should you have the item repaired.
If you choose not to proceed with the repair for any reason then you will not be charged any further fees after the initial deposit fee.
Please ask about the work limit value for your item before committing to a repair.
WE WILL NOT EXCEED THIS VALUE FOR REPAIRS WITHOUT YOUR AUTHORITY.
EG: For a TV up to 28 inches the deposit ( December 2017 ) price is £30, the STV work limit value is £69. So the engineer will start work on the tv straight away and he will only be allowed to repair the tv if the cost to repair does not exceed £69. If the cost to repair would exceed this £69 then we do not repair the item but we would telephone you with the engineers advice and costs to repair the item so that you would have a choice on whether you would like to pay any extra amount stated for the repair or not.
STV cannot know what is wrong with your tv or how much it will cost to repair before inspection by our engineer, but by offering this system to all our customers, we will never put a customer in a situation where they are presented with an expensive repair bill without having the right to know about costs and to choose how to proceed.
This method of repair charging is applied to any type of repair we accept and for all types of electricals.

STV do not repair electricals on site but at the engineers workshop where he has access to the tools required to complete and test your repair item!
STV normally accepts repairs at the shop, however in special circumstances we can book a driver to collect and deliver back your repair to your home if you are unable to bring your itemto the shop and you are willing to pay the travel costs. Please ring the shop to book this service and we will advise you on the cost and date and times for collection .02920 232827.
All parts that have been fitted or replaced by STV are covered by our 3 month peace of mind guarantee. If the parts fitted or replaced by our engineer go faulty we will happily replace these parts free of charge.
We do not guarantee the complete item as we are not liable for faults occurring in other component parts that have not been supplied by STV.
STV are a Checkatrade registerred business and are happy for our customers to leave feedback on our repair service.
STV can accept cash payments for installations, sales, repairs, collection and delivery charges for transporting items to the shop or to staff, or by debit card/ credit card at the shop or over the telephone. 02920 232827.
Customers items that have been booked into the shop for repair must be collected promptly within two weeks of completion whether they have been repaired or not or STV will arrange for them to be scrapped or moved to a storage facility. Should this happen then storage charges may be incurred.
STV do not sell broken tv’s on to unscrupulous characters who may try to pass them off as working to gain a financial reward.
